We Rise: A Movement Songbook

Type Design, Campaign Graphics, Interactive Songbook

A digital protest songbook to accompany the work of Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.  A movement that revives Dr. Martin Luther King’s anti-poverty efforts that sought to unite poor and impacted communities across the United States. From Alaska to Arkansas, the Bronx to the border, people are coming together to confront the interlocking evils of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, militarism and the war economy, and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism. This songbook accompanies the movement in the hope that the practice of raising our voices together will enable us to honour our pasts, learn from one another, and begin to envision a just society where Everybody and Being has a Right to Live.

Bespoke type design supports hundreds of pages of lyrics and context for songs old and new — with interactive videos and links throughout for ease of use.
