Building your business on Twitter

Already familiar with Twitter as a brand (Twitter #Fashion) we were commissioned to design the latest TwitterUK promotional book. As you can imagine, Twitter is predominantly an online portal, rarely commissioning print work. So we were absolutely delighted to be asked to design our second Twitter book. The objective of the publication is to outline the how-to’s of Twitter and the potential and benefit for small and medium businesses. We produced 6,500 copies to correspond with an event in Newcastle, followed by the remainder being distributed in select locations across the UK.

Initially briefed to create a 20pp booklet, we managed to persuade Twitter to increase page count and content layout in order to give the book maximum longevity, standout and therefore increase its potential impact on the businesses and individuals who receive it.

The content ran from literally “what is a tweet” and “what is a hashtag” to advanced Twitter use for maximising business and return. Embracing Twitter’s new colour palettes, typefaces and styling, we worked alongside the guidelines whilst pushing everything to its full potential—using colour to really contrast and highlight important insight.

We experimented with lots of cover options, finally settling on a run of varying colourways, and white foiled lettering on top of soft-touch lamination, which contrasted perfectly with the uncoated heavy text pages.

We were very happy with the outcome and the project was a pleasure to design.
